CSMN635 Summer 2003
Prof. William McCumber's Sections

Textbooks and Software

The textbooks should be available at the bookstores recommended by UMUC in the CSMN635 course listing in the schedule of classes. The software (Microsoft Project 2000) is available both as a full version, and as a very low-cost trial version included in one of the textbooks (recommended). MS Project 2002 is also acceptable for this class. (You will need the required book no matter what version you use, though.) See below for details.

To help you find the books, here are additional places to find the required or recommended textbooks for CSMN635 at your favorite bookstores.

Scroll down to see it all.

Note: Turban's "Information Technology for Management" and Nelson, Coleman and Dolliver's "Effective Executive's Guide to Project 2000" are NOT being used any more for CSMN635. Please ignore any bookstore listings which still have these posted as the books for this class.

This book is useful for those students who may need to brush up on their algebra, arithmetic, word problem, and problem-solving skills. If you know deep inside that you are not 100% solid on algebra and (specifically) job completion word problems, this book (plus some individual tutoring with your T.A) should help.  Back in 5th (or 7th, or 9th) grade you may have asked your teacher, "When will we ever have to use this stuff?"  The answer is: in CSMN635, and in project management generally.

Disclaimer: Prices and availability given for the third-party bookstores  above can change at any time. EagleRidge Technologies, Inc., provides this information as a service only, and takes no responsibility for its accuracy.

Note: In the past direct links were also given for some other online bookstores.  However, delivery times and availability at the other stores were not as good as the shops listed here, so the T.A. did not list them this term.  If you need help finding the books and do not want to get them at one of the mentioned stores, please e-mail the TA for help.
